Definitely one of the cooler places I’ve camped at. We had the beach, views of the city, full moon, and top of Angel Island all to ourselves. Thanks to my buddy Allen for sitting still for the four second exposure and Joana for the great flashlight action.

I was recently asked by Mikkeller to do some photos of their new bar in San Francisco. I’m a huge fan of their beer, and very fond of everything Danish so I was stoked at the opportunity. A large group of us went for opening night and spent too much money. The fact that we played Danish beer drinking games didn’t help the cause, and like always our crew we was easily the loudest group there. Their bourbon-aged beers were definitely a crowd favorite.

A big thanks for my buddy Noel for the lighting assistance and for making sure that the crazies across the street only used my car as a park bench and trash bin and nothing else.

I was lucky enough to be able to travel to Mongolia and photograph the Naadam Festival, or three manly games. Here are some photographs from it.

A couple of old files I found that I decided to touch up. Milford Sound in New Zealand and Newport, Rhode Island.

Had the pleasure of photographing at 209 Gin in San Francisco on Tuesday for an editorial spread for Drink Me magazine. Props to the “Ginerator” himself Arne Hillesland for being so accommodating.

A new photo of my runner friend Robert in the Marin Headlands.

I was in Oaxaca last month and was lucky enough to photograph at La Olla restaurant with the help of our amazing couchsurfing host Omarito Alonso, who works there. Chef Pilar Cabrera is really down to earth and her food was awesome! I would definitely recommend a trip there for anyone visiting the region. So inspired I became by the food in Oaxaca that I am cooking a Oaxacan-inspired dinner for 16 people this week.

A couple new pics of my triathlete friend Willow. My friend, and fellow photographer Gabriel Harber, recently purchased a sweet right-hand drive Mitsubishi van. We decided to shoot Willow from it both experimenting with a flash (attached on a boom arm from the top of the van) and a reflector (placed in the open sliding doorway of the van). Then again, we could have set all this up on the side of the road to make our lives easier, but we were having way too much fun hanging out  of the van. The road we were on was ideal for bike shoots, but to our dismay, the gates to it only open at 9am in the morning.

I was invited by my pal Grizzly to join him and the non-profit he works for, The Collings Foundation, at the Livermore airport on Memorial Day. I didn’t know what to expect when I arrived, but was stoked to be able to tour some old World War II planes, and even fly in a B-17 bomber. As cool as the plane was to be in, I have to say the most humbling part of the day was meeting some World War II fighter pilots. They were very willing to share stories of the past and could not have been more modest and classy individuals. Yes, the last photo is a total shameless selfie on the B-17 :)

Recently went with the boys on a 2-day backpacking trip to Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon and a small hike in Death Valley on the way back. Havasu Falls and the surrounding area is simply amazing in the Spring. We even had one of the waterfalls to ourselves in the late afternoon. Definitely a place I will return to in the future.

Bottle shots for Pennywise wine, for The Other Guys, Inc. Taken in studio and at the Palace of Fine Arts.

Test shoot with my friend and model Kelly Marie out on some alfalfa fields in Davis. Trying out the California Sunbounce, which has quickly become my new bff these days.

Linked up with my pal Robert again to take some pictures of him trail running. Not two minutes into shooting a ranger told me to stop and put my lights away and that I needed a permit for photography. I wasn’t going to leave such a lovely location without photos, so I convinced the ranger to let us use only a reflector. Hats off to my friend Sandra for holding a reflector so well in the wind, and Robert for showing me my new favorite location.

Some action shots of Robert Rhodes of a short walk from my apartment in San Francisco. Robert was great to work with and I’m glad I was able to use the steps I used to run on (note to self: less pork, more steps). Thanks to my boy Noel for being the impervious human light stand.

While location scouting in Tahoe over the winter I snapped a picture of this kayaker at Donner Lake.

Took some pictures for Euroman for an article on marijuana with my friend and writer Sole Moller.
